Davonte named Top Student

Young member, Davonté Howell, was voted top student in this year’s edition of the Rubis Top Student competition sponsored by the petroleum distribution company. The annual competition seeks to identify, reward and motivate young students between the ages of 8 and 12 who excel in areas of study or extracurricular activities in the Cayman Islands. Nine-year-old Davonté is a student at Prospect Primary School, and is passionate about Track and Field. He received 2,033 votes in the competition, which was open to the public. This accolade earned Davonté the grand prize of a $5,000 grant to further develop his skills in Track and Field. He will also serve as a Rubis Corporate Brand Ambassador for one year. Nine other students won$1,000 grants. The awards were presented on September 8.
